The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour was build on Moscows higest point and finished in 1883. Then demolished in 1931 after the revolution or specific, when Lenin died. The site was chosen for a monument to socialism. The site was interrupted by lack of funds, flooding from the Moscow River and the outbreak of war. The foundation hole was full of water and was turned into the world's largest outdoor swimming pool. In 1990 Soviet Government gave permission to the Russian Orthodox Church to rebuild the original Cathedral and it was finished in 1994. Moscow, Russia, November 2007
