The other day I was at the little dock with my dinghy at the bar, Asiento. A local guy was also in his raincoat like me, pumping water out of a speedboat and looking towards the sky. The rain was still pouring down and it had been like this for a few months now. The local guy looked at me, put his arms out, shook his head and said he had never seen so much rain on the island. The once so desert like island, has turned into a beautiful green, lush island which is really nice, but enough all ready, and I have only been here three weeks. Right where my friend Chris lives is a ditch for draining water. I wanted to skate it ever since I got here but the water keeps flowing in the bottom... when does it end? At the Heineken Regatta it also rained and there was hardly any wind, weird conditions. Mother earth is angry.

My friend Chris and I decided to do a trip to Fuik Baai, a small bay about 40 minutes east of Spanish Water with crystal clear water. We invited friends and during the week checked the weather forecast. It did not look very good, unless you like water coming from the sky constantly. The Saturday 27. November was closing in and the weather was still looking bad. At nine o'clock Chris called me and laughing we agreed on going anyway. Friends was texting me, asking if the trip was still on even though the rain was pouring down. At 11.30 am, I had 16 friends on board Solitude with every one looking at each other saying, what the hell are we doing here??!?! Everyone were in a good mood when we took the mooring lines off and sailed towards Fuik Baai. Lots of beers, wine, cigarrettes and games of domino later, we were back in Spanish Water. No doubt, this was a stupid idea going to Fuik Baai on a rainy day, but every one had fun and it was better than sitting in front of the TV all day.
